Join with the Town of Franklin for this most wonderful time of year as Historic Downtown Franklin is transformed into a “Winter Wonderland” featuring: enhanced holiday decor, live sounds of the season outdoors at the downtown gazebo and inside stores, FREE holiday attractions (weather permitting), great sales from downtown merchants and much more.

Winter Wonderland is held on the two consecutive Saturdays after Thanksgiving.

The November 26th edition of Winter Wonderland coincides with Small Business Saturday® founded by American Express®. Plus, that night we hold our Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony at the Gazebo on the Square! Remember, our Downtown Merchants are open late both nights of Winter Wonderland with great gift ideas for everyone on your shopping list!

You’ll find there’s no holiday quite like a mountain holiday in Franklin, NC , so bring the family and enjoy all the music, lights, fun and holiday cheer of Winter Wonderland in Historic Franklin, North Carolina. Winter Wonderland is held rain or shine but subject to snow.

TREE LIGHTING CEREMONY

The Town of Franklin, North Carolina officially kicks off the holiday season with the first night of Winter Wonderland. Our Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony will begin at 7:00 pm at the Gazebo on the Square in Downtown Franklin.

VISIT WITH JOLLY OLE ST. NICK!

Yes indeed! Santa will be making appearances both nights of Winter Wonderland! His visit is always a special time as he takes to the streets to spread cheer and speak with the young ones about their holiday wishes. You’ll find him along the streets of Downtown Franklin and inside our local merchants visiting with both young and young at heart!

SMALL BUSINESS SATURDAY™

The Town of Franklin is honored to be a Neighborhood Champion of Small Business Saturday. We encourage you to Shop Small and Shop Local all season long!

There will be photo ops galore during Winter Wonderland and anytime you visit Downtown Franklin, NC. It is a great time for family photos or a reminder of your special visit to Franklin!

MERCHANT SPONSORED CANDLELIGHT SERVICE

Immediately following the Town of Franklin’s Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony, merchants will present the Annual Candlelight Service on the Speaker’s Corner at the Macon County Courthouse. The event will be led by Rev. Dr. Vic Greene & Rev. Janet Greene.
